National Indignation

I read about a movie just launched in Brazil – Tourists – and I got much indignant with our image seen in some places. The movie (photo), which talks about “Addicted american teenagers who came to Brazil to have fun and where the met the sensual savages”, but they get in a woof and they are killed and have their organs taken by the “savages”, shows an horrible image of our country. Don’t they think that it can prejudice our country? Or that it can be, and it’s, totally wrong in the reality?

Many say that it doesn’t matter, even because many other movies show other places in these situations. I disagree. The name of our country is much known all over the world, but the biggest part of the people doesn’t know how our country really is. So, when one watches sucn movie he creates a warped seen of our nation. This movie isn’t the only one who brings a bad image of us. Other programs warps everything, like the much knows cartoon The Simpsons, which shows a snake eating Bart, thieve attacking Lisa and Homer is kidnapped.

Proving that these programs can really change the nature of a country, north-americans generals told that they prefer to go to Iraq in the war than come to Brazil to insure their president in his travel to Brazil, that happened in the beginning of March.
This’s a problem that we must go against it, a problem that affects our government and mainly our people. We must be tough about this subject and impose limits, because everyone has to know that WE ARE NOT “SENSUAL SAVAGES”!
